After-School Programs

Empowering Kids Beyond the Classroom

When school’s out, the fun and learning continue at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield! Our After-School Program provides a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where kids and teens (K-11) can thrive. Through high-yield learning activities and targeted programs, we help young people build confidence, develop new skills, and form lasting friendships. Located in our state-of-the-art Clubhouse, we offer a diverse range of activities rooted in our mission and five core program principles. At BGCM, we’re more than just after-school care—we’re a community that inspires growth, creativity, and success!

Afternoons at the Club

Our out-of-school afternoon Club programming caters to the diverse needs of families, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students in grades K-5 across the South Shore.

From daily arts and crafts to sports and games to academic support, afternoons at the Club have something for everyone.

Our After School Programming focuses on the five core principles of Boys & Girls Clubs of America:

  • We offer support for youth to focus on academics, college, and career choices through homework help, STEM, Pen Pals, Museum of Science Explorations, College Club, and career awareness programs.

  • We encourage youth to express themselves and build confidence through visual and performing arts, including music, art, dance, and theater.

  • Club Kids develop a positive self-image while supporting the BGCM community through Keystone Club, Torch Club, Young Leaders, Youth of the Year, and Strong Women, Strong Girls.

  • BGCM offers safe places for discussion about important life decisions through various workshops, club programs, and teen mentoring opportunities.

  • BGCM promotes healthy lifestyles through swim lessons, fitness classes, meditation, cooking classes, recreational sports leagues, tournaments, Michael Phelps’ IM Program, and more.

The Junior Leadership Program (JLP)

The Boys & Girls Club Junior Leadership Program (JLP) for students in grades 6 through 8 is an after-school program that provides opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and community service. JLP Advisors and staff empower young people to become responsible citizens and leaders in their communities while simultaneously celebrating their desire to “just be a kid.”

Participants engage in weekly activities focused on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, responsibility, character development, and FUN.

Tweens gain confidence in their abilities and are equipped with tools to make positive contributions to their communities.

JLP includes opportunities to participate in the Boys & Girls Club National Torch Club: a program focused on community service projects, leadership training, and educational activities that promote civic responsibility.
